Our mission is to provide for the prevention, abatement and control of contaminants from regulated underground storage tanks (USTs) that may threaten human health, safety and the environment.
The Underground Storage Tank Branch (USTB) regulates the registration, compliance, closure, inspections and corrective actions of UST systems.
The provided information is intended for tank owners and operators, consultants, certified contractors, other government agencies and the interested public.
Administrative: Performs a variety of administrative duties in support of the USTB.
Additional Evaluation Sections: Oversees the permanent closure and site investigation activities of UST systems and provides regulatory expertise to professionals.
Claims and Payment Section: Maintains the UST Branch's reimbursement funding source.
Compliance Section: Assists owners and operators of USTs by providing information about federal and state regulations.
Corrective Action: Oversees the remediation activities performed at facilities with confirmed releases and/or contamination.
