Claims and Payment Section's responsibilities

The Claims and Payment Section maintains the UST Branch's reimbursement funding source, the Petroleum Storage Tank Environmental Assurance Fund (PSTEAF).  The PSTEAF continues to provide reimbursement for:

  • Corrective action activities as directed by the cabinet for owners and/or operators of regulated petroleum underground storage tank (UST) systems through either the Financial Responsibility Account (FRA) or the Petroleum Storage Tank Account (PSTA); and
  • UST removals for owners who meet the criteria for reimbursement from the Small Owner Tank Removal Account (SOTRA).
